Editing Pages

Wordpress manages two different types of content - Posts and Pages. In the previous lesson, we discussed Posts. These are shown chronologically (blog-style), and they only show on the Home Page of this site. Pages, on the other hand, are not associated with a timeline like Posts are. They are simply static pieces of content that reside wherever you put them. This site is currently organized so that Pages reside under one of three sections - Events, Resources, and Homeowners Association*. In this lesson, you will learn how to modify a Page in any of these sections.

(* Actually, there is a fourth section - Administrators Guide - which you are reading right now.  But you probably don’t want to touch that one.)
First, find the page you would like to edit. To do this, click the Manage heading, then the Pages subheading.

Navigating to Manage Pages

Here you will see all of the Pages on VAC.org. Somewhere in the list, you should see the name of the page you want to edit. Click “Edit” in that row.

Selecting a Page to Edit

Now you should find yourself in the “Write Page” page. This works exactly like “Write Post”, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding your way around. After you have made your changes, click the “Save” button, and you’re done!
