Once inside Wordpress, you will go to the “Write” section.
Now you should be on the “Write Post” page. This is where you (any guesses?…) write your post. Enter the title and body of your post in the areas provided. Hopefully the basic word-processor style formatting buttons are self-explanitory.
If you want to add a link (to a website or email address), highlight the text you want to use and click the link button.
In the window that pops up, enter the URL of the link. If this is an email address prefix the email address with “mailto:”.
If you’d like to attach a file to your post, use the “Upload” section underneath the post area. Click “Browse…” to find the file on your machine.
Once you have selected a file, click the Upload button.
Now that the file has been uploaded, you need to link to the file from your post. To do that, simply click on the filename and drag it into the body of your post.
You can also add images to your post, but I’ll save that for another topic. To complete your post and add it to the Home Page, click the “Publish” button. Note that the “Save” button will save your post as a draft, and it will not be published on the Home Page.
Presto! Your post has now been published on the Home Page.
