Using Images

Things can get a little more complicated when you include images (photos) in your Posts and Pages, but it’s worth it.  This lesson assumes you are either on the Write Post screen or the Write Page screen.
First, place the cursor at the location in your Post or Page where you want to include the image.  Now click the ImageManager icon.

ImageManager

You should see the ImageManager window appear.  Assuming that you have not uploaded your image yet, click the “Browse” button to find the image file on your machine.  Once you have selected the file, click “Upload”.

Upload Your Image

Find the file you just uploaded, and click the picture to select it.  Add an optional caption or title in the “Alt/Title” field, and click “OK”.

Inserting the image

This will insert the image as a thumbnail link like the ones in this tutorial.  This is often preferred so that the image doesn’t occupy so much screen real estate.  However, if you wish to insert the actual image itself, you just need to select “Image” from the “Insert As…” field.

You also have the ability to make minor edits to your image after you have uploaded it.  For instance, if the image is larger than you would like it to be and you want to shrink it or crop it.  To do this, click the pencil icon underneath the image after you have uploaded it.

Although there are many more options, I think this pretty much covers the basics.  Feel free to play around with any of the other features I haven’t described here.  If you run into difficulty, please email me.  Have fun!
